GOOGLE VEO3: IMG-2-VIDEO HUMAN EMOTION

This week we’re diving into human expression with Veo3.

This often gets lost with all the tools.

And most tools miss on controlling human gesture/emotion.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT:

• Most ppl are focusing on action + sci-fi

• No one is trying to give Ai some soul

• It’s now possible with Veo3

PROCESS:

1. Open Google Flow

2. Gen Initial character (Imagen4)

3. Used “Frame-2-Video” in google flow

4. Enter text prompt + generate

5. Iterate.

BASIC PROMPT STRUCTURE: [basic scene description], [expression/gesture description], [emotion description]

EX PROMPT 1: Man smoking a cigarette, He looks off, eyes scanning the ground. His lips tremble. He tries to speak but just inhales instead. His throat tightens. He’s swallowing emotion.

EX PROMPT 2: He spreads both arms wide like delivering a dramatic speech. Big gesture, then brings hands to his chest, then points outward again. Controlled theatricality.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

• Sometimes “the man is sad” isn’t enough

• You can control facial expressions/gestures

• Things like eye direction/head movement

• Body language and placement

• Veo3 can handle finer details.

• Don't overcomplicate the prompt w i2v

• Focus on the specific movements

• Also try “this than that” prompting

• Ex..”the person does [x] than they do [y]”

TOPAZ STARLIGHT: CREATIVE VIDEO UPSCALER

We’ve been looking for a tool that upscales video…the same way Magnific upscales images.

TOPAZ has really started pushing the envelope here.

With their product “Starlight” - Which can now upscale video + add detail.

PROCESS:

1. Open Topaz Ai Video

2. Upload a video

3. Select “Enhance”

4. Select “Starlight” as the Ai Model

5. Make the rest of your adjustments and render.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

• This tool is so needed

• It provides much sharper clarity

• And fixes some of the details Ai Video misses

• However, it can be a little soft and loose texture.

• But overall, it’s the best in class currently.

LUMA LABS: RELEASES VIDEO RESTYLE

Last week Luma dropped their video restyle feature.

It’s very similar to Runway’s restyle feature.

But a little more intricate and more optionality.

WHAT’S NEW:

• Edit videos without reshooting

• Keep original motion & lip sync

• Swap clothes, skies, or props fast

• Use presets: Adhere, Flex, Reimagine

• No green screen or masking needed

• Outputs in 720p or 1080p with audio

• Beats Runway in motion accuracy (self-proclaimed)

I took this for a test drive…and it’s good…but not consistent. It will only work with certain videos. The more motion there is in the video…the harder it is for style transfer to “stick”.

PROCESS:

1. Open a new Luma Project

2. Import a video

3. Select + import a style reference image

4. Add a text prompt to describe the changes

5. Generate

This was one of the better renders below:

Overall, will need to do a lot more testing to see how viable this is. The render times are bit slow…so it’s hard to dedicate a lot of time towards it. I will give it some more time before I completely write it off.
