Fam,

It was a relatively slow week for Ai news.

So we got in the lab and cooked some things up.

A few new workflows + video upscaling.

Just adding more tools to the box.

GOOGLE VEO2: RELEASED ON FREEPIK + FAL

Ever since we’ve seen what Veo2 can do.

We’ve been on the edges of our seats…waiting for the release.

Google Veo2 is NOW AVAILABLE via API on FREEPIK + FAL.

THINGS TO KNOW:

• This is not the full model…but it’s a taste

• Looks like (5s) generations on each vs (8s) full model

• The queue lines seem to be very long (currently).

• It’s really expensive.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

• I’m not sure why google released via API

• Before they launched their full model publically

• I do not have much experience with either platform

• But I know they both have access to many APIs

• Google’s product is excellent

• (might be worth waiting for)

If you’re going to try Veo on those platforms…it’s best to have some insight into how to best use it. (So you don’t waste too many credits) 

That being said…here’s a round-up of a few posts with more info.

VEO2 OBSERVATIONS:

• T2V requires detailed prompts

• To get any semblance of consistency

• The prompts become really long + detailed

• Text-2-video has it’s limitations…but

• Veo2 has a nice creative streak

• Small tokens make a difference

• One word can alter the entire output

• It’s a problem/strength w. coherent models

• Veo reacts really well to “mood/emotion”

• And a little more narrative in the prompt

• Veo really wins on camera motion 

• It has a more natural feel to it/less robotic

• “Tracking shot” is a good holding category

• For getting decent/less structured cam motion.

PROMPT STRUCTURE: [Shot Type], [Subject + Details], [Action/Motion Description], [Camera Motion + Description], [Enviornment + Description], [End Result], [Mood], [Key Visual Elements]

MJ + KLING + SORA: VFX WORKFLOW

Sora’s been laying dormant for a while…so I figured we’d dust it off.

With help from the Blend and Remix tools for some interesting VFX.

PROCESS:

1. Gen images in MJ

2. Kling Elements to combine

3. Sora Blend to mesh the videos

4. Sora Remix to upscale + clean up

Oh the elusive Ai-Video upscaler…the nut that hasn’t been cracked.

Well…it looks like TOPAZ is taking their shot.

For V1 of a very difficult feature…it’s not bad.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

• Currently still in Beta and rolling out

• Gen times are typically around 20 mins

• The generations are done in the cloud vs local

• Adds some contrast/depth + works well with texture

• (Not so much on human faces)

Overall, it’s a valiant effort at possibly the most requested product of 2025.
