RUNWAY: ADVANCED CAMERA CONTROL RELEASED.

Last week we got ACT-1…this week Runway rolled out Advanced Camera Control.

If you were on Runway Gen-2…you remember “Director Mode” (It was awesome).

However, I’m not overly impressed with Gen-3’s version (yet).

WHAT I LIKE:

• GRANULAR CONTROL: Direct the camera motion with precision.

• OLD FEATURES: Bringing back some of the classic GEN-2 features.

• INTUITIVE UX/UI: It’s very easy to comprehend.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE:

• SUBJECT MOTION: When using this…there’s limited subject motion.

• CAMERA MOTION FOCUS: It really focuses on the camera motion vs the subject motion.

• PROMPT COHERENCE: Regardless of what you prompt…you don’t get much.

VERDICT:

It’s cool to have it back…but it’s not that great (yet). I spoke with someone close to Runway and they are aware and this should improve soon. It just released so we’ll give it some time. I would also be on the lookout for “Motion Brush” as the next release.

QUICK TIP: Instead of using advanced camera control feature…use the templated prompts for dynamic camera motion in standard IMG-2-Video ↓

MIDJOURNEY: CROWD-SOURCING IDEAS

One of the many reasons I love Midjourney…it feels like you have a say in the product development.

And Midjourney just released an open call for ideas.
