Runway Animation Tutorial + Midjourney Parameter Hacks

I’m going to pump more content your way.

Let’s get into it.

Here’s a Quick Rundown:

Parameters are important.

They can change the entire outlook of your image…without changing much in the prompt.

You can take one prompt and make a million variations.

Here’s a few quick tips:

Stylize (--s):

• Values: 0-1000

• Default: 100

• Benefit: Great for adding more creative firepower to your images

• Drawback: At higher levels (500-1000) you lose creative control of your prompt

• Tip: Use stylize (0-100) for more minimalistic prompting

Example Prompt: biker sitting on a Harley Davidson, grey hair, beard, sunglasses, intricate tattoos, motorcycle garage, 35mm, Berger Pancro 400, sharp focus, blurred background, light rays --ar 9:16 --v 6 --s {0, 100, 300, 500, 700, 1000}

Chaos (--c):

• Values: 0-100

• Default: 0

• Benefit: Great for varying your image grid…and giving you more options

• Drawback: At higher levels (40-100) things become very weird

• Tip: Use low levels (0-15) for more varied grids..that are close to your prompt

Example Prompt: biker sitting on a Harley Davidson, grey hair, beard, sunglasses, intricate tattoos, motorcycle garage, 35mm, Berger Pancro 400, sharp focus, blurred background, light rays --ar 9:16 --v 6 --c {0, 25, 50, 75, 100}

Weird (--weird):

• Values: 0-3000

• Default: 0

• Benefit: Great for unconventional aesthetics

• Drawback: At higher levels (100+) it will get…weird.

• Tip: Use low levels (0-30) for more natural photo look.

Example Prompt: biker sitting on a Harley Davidson, grey hair, beard, sunglasses, intricate tattoos, motorcycle garage, 35mm, Berger Pancro 400, sharp focus, blurred background, light rays --ar 9:16 --v 6 --weird {10, 50, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000}

Just For Fun:

If you want to make things look “natural” use --s 0 and --style raw together and add the phrase…”posted on reddit in 2016”.

Prompt Example:

biker sitting on a Harley Davidson, grey hair, beard, tattoos, sunglasses, intricate tattoos, motorcycle garage, posted on Reddit 2016 --ar 16:9 --style raw --stylize 0 --v 6

If you really want to have some fun…dial up the “weird” value on that prompt.

(Someone you know…has a photo like this…from the 90’s…guaranteed)

Runway’s New Multi-Motion Brush

So Runway just released its new “multi-motion” brush.

Initial thoughts: It’s awesome.

Here’s a quick recap if you missed it.

This was sorely needed because it gives you more control…limits hallucinations…and makes gens more consistent.

It’s going to open up a lot of creativity.

Using Midjourney + Runway together can be super powerful.

Subtle motion can bring a whole new dynamic.

Here’s something to play around with…

The multi-motion brush is excellent for animating faces.

Faces are extremely complex…every motion has a correlating and counter motion.

For example…when you smile your eyes change shape…when you frown…your eyebrows shift.
