And we finally got to test them.

MJ: EXTERNAL EDITOR REVIEW.

Last week MJ released the external editor + retexture.

I had a few days to test this out… there are things I like and things I don’t.

Overall…it’s ok…but I’m sure it will improve.

EDITOR: WHAT I LIKE:

• GENERATIVE EXPAND/CROP is super nice.

• MJ GEN QUALITY > Photoshop Gen Fill

• FIDELITY is good when editing external images.

ORIGINAL PROMPT: movie still of a comedy film that was never made, and movie we never needed lol

EDITED PROMPT: A cinematic still of a dinosaur invading a royal dinner. --ar 5:4 --v 6.1

EDITOR: WHAT I DON’T LIKE:

• UX/UI is clunky 

• SMALL OBJECTS don’t render well

• TEXT PROMPTING isn’t particularly coherent

• MY EXTERNAL IMAGES keep getting flagged

RETEXTURE:

This is my favorite aspect of the new drop.

It’s very similar to controlnet and the use cases will expand for this.

My favorite at the current moment…sketch-to-image.

RUNWAY: HOLY SH*T ACT-1”

Runway released their NEW “ACT 1” Tool…which allows you to generate expressive characters based on source videos.

The motion capture is pretty damn good…it’s wildly impressive.

Somehow…it has a sense of humor and comedic timing…and I’ve found myself prompting more for ridiculous outcomes than anything.
