Midjourney's New Website + Holiday Gifts.
The big reveal.
Fam,
We’re knee deep into the holiday season…anddd
Midjourney just gave us a gift….
A brand NEW WEBSITE.
This was expected…but
I wasn’t expecting it to be this user-friendly. (And fast)
So, here’s a little video tour for you.
Check it out ↓
Here’s what you need to know…
Getting There:
01. Go to alpha.midjourney.com
02. Sign-in again through discord
03. Access the site
Note:
You can only access the site if you’ve generated 10k+ images. (The website should be released to everyone in a week or so)
To check how many images you’ve generated…
01. Go to Discord
02. Type “/info”
03. Press Enter
04. Discord will show you how many images you generated.
So what’s new?
Prompting:
You can now prompt natively on the site.
No more discord (unless you want to…it’s still available).
No more typing “/imagine”.
Parameters:
Parameters are now visible as sliders.
Making it easier to navigate and add to your images.
But, you can still add them in manually.
Note* - The chaos (--c) parameter is now “Variety.”
Describe Function:
The describe function is seriously improved.
Instead of (4) random prompt generations.
You can now pick and choose elements to craft your prompt.
Note* - They added links to the artists names so you can search them (nice move by MJ)
So there’s a few aspects that are changing…but ultimately a good first impression.
Things I like:
+ The site is super clean (and fast).
+ User experience is much better.
+ Easy learning curve for new users.
+ “Create” page is very interactive.
+ Adding parameters & changing aspect ratio is much easier.
+ Navigation your Lightbox is simple.
+ Toggling between images is fast and clean.
+ Describe feature has improved significantly (woah).
+ Linking out to specific artists for exposure (nice move by MJ).
Things I don’t like:
+ No more “Custom Zoom”
+ Changing aspect ratios of a previously generated image is harder w/o custom zoom.
+ No more “tune” feature.
+ Too add a custom style…you have to find an old image and add it manually.
+ No collection pages (yet).
+ Everything generates in one Lightbox (no separate channels).
+ No shared channels for teams.
If you want a long-form breakdown…

Using Midjourney is cool…but…
Tag-teaming Midjourney with other tools can be awesome.
Runway recently updated their Director Mode features.
And it’s wild.
Specifically their Motion Brush tool.
Let’s take a look ↓

More New Tools?
Magnific Ai was just released…and it’s solid.
Basically, you can add the texture/detail Midjourney missed.
It’s pricey ($39), but it’s good if you need more polished output.
Here’s how you can use it:
Process:
01. Create image in Midjourney
02. Upload into Magnific Ai.
03. Select your scale.
04. Adjust Preference Settings.
05. Hit Generate.
Extremely easy to use.
You can also adjust your image based on the medium.
So you can optimize for:
+ Standard
+ Portraits
+ Art & Illustration
+ Video Game Assets
+ Nature & Landscape
+ Fil & Photography
+ 3D Renders
+ Scientific & Horror
The preferences allow you to adjust:
+ Creativity
+ HDR
+ Resemblance
Having the ability to change “engines” is a nice feature as well.
And the 2x upscaler is a good touch.
Overall…really solid product if you want to add fine details to your images.
Have fun.
